LindaM 2 Posted April 20, 2008 this looks like little by heaven on earth! is one of them your grandson? Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 20, 2008 Nobody I know in this one. Just saw the kids playing on the top of the fire truck, and thought I'd snap. What you see is what I got. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted April 20, 2008 A cute threesome. I like the color here, slightly muted and slightly yellowed giving the feel of Polaroids from the 60's. Boys and toys. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted April 21, 2008 this is one of the ways to get the water up. Maybe you should send this to Lake Flaccid folks. I like the spontaneity of the scene, though the contrast is weird. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 21, 2008 I was thinking you might wish to get one of these and hook the hose up to a tank of V8 juice. It is a kind of muted contrast, but if I jack it up, it just doesn't seem right. I guess the problem might have resulted form the fact that they were backlit and the part I wanted had to be brought out. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 21, 2008 I'll just say that this has a few different levels to it. You've presented it non-chalantly. Would love to see the backlit version. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 22, 2008 I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have apparently erased the original image from the card and from my computer. I have the larger PSD file from which this one was derived, but it is also worked over a bit to bring out the shadows of the boys' front side. I'm still looking, but I think it got erased. Guest Guest Posted April 22, 2008 That's okay. I'm always curious to see the post decisions made. In some contexts, I could see facelessness not being a problem here. Link to comment
radioactive 0 Posted April 25, 2008 For some reason the over all feel of this reminds me of Norman Rockwell. The tones, the colors, the over all feeling of youthful bliss, and innocent play . This is an exceptional vernacular type of photos. I love it. I don't know if you're a fan of Rockwells work, but I have always adores his hyper Americana propagandic illustrational style. I know you may find it hard to believe... but I have several prints of his work. I keep them right next to my Betty Paige prints. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 25, 2008 That's kind of weird. You seem more anti establishment than Norman Rockwell. I've never been a big fan of Rockwell as art, but I do love the times he chronicled and long for what now seems the more simplistic lifestyle he portrayed. Perhaps I'm mellowing though, as I find him more interesting now than I did thirty years ago. This scene certainly is small town Americana. We have these events in Kingsburg that really are throwbacks to the earlier day. The bad part of that is that some people have actually convinced themselves that these throwbacks are representative of what is today. Alas, that is not to be. Thanks for your look my man, and be sure to vote for Obama in your state's primary. Link to comment
