jeffl7 0 Posted April 20, 2008 I do some consulting in prisons, and this scene is a familiar one. A sad one. I assume this is a barricade to keep people in or out. This is emotionally provocative. Link to comment
Felicitaciones, David, genial. Link to comment

rogerleekam 0 Posted April 21, 2008 Stark, sinister, and very effective, David. That black and white pattern below the wire really drives the whole idea. Well done! Link to comment

cherlyn 1 Posted April 22, 2008 Fabulous shot, the sharp jagged wire so distinct, the exposure & perspective wonderous. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted April 22, 2008 Effective, almost an abstract for me because it so strongly represents ideas of man-made prisons and crimes committed (or not committed), hearkening back to POWs and persecutions. The dreamy sky invites, the barbed wire is sharply captured, the wall beckons-- is it too sharp to attempt the climb? Link to comment
joe-tury 0 Posted April 22, 2008 Great perspective, technically speaking of course. Sinister indeed! I like the jagged edges vs. the soft blue sky. Link to comment
davidorea 0 Posted April 22, 2008 Thanks to all of you for your kind comments. Donna, about your question ... the original photograph is totally different. In fact, this is a beautiful place, very close to my house, (just 4 miles or less) where there are several new buildings in construction and others recently finished. So, what you see is a barbed wire over a division wall, between two building lots. So, I made several changes (cropping, increasing contrast etc.) to give a quite different atmosphere. Regards! sallycd 0 Posted April 22, 2008 Hello David... I see this picture as protection.Telling us to remember that we have to protect what we have because others will take them away from you. A reminder of a sort. But I think when you post this you wanted the viewer like me to look into the technical aspect of it's composition. This is good composition and the lighting is just perfect for me. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted April 24, 2008 David, very effective presentation of barriers. The feeling of seclusion or/and separation or/and defence. They all connect to human behaviour represented here with vires, and fences. a gray reminder, well done ! Link to comment
skyjammer 0 Posted April 24, 2008 You've certainly given this barrier an ominous tone and ambiance. It does come across as representing containment. As others have alluded, a highly evocative image. Cheers, -Ade Link to comment
