myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted April 20, 2008 I like this better than the last 2 portraits I critiqued (not to take away from them) but not as well as 'pocket pistol' (not to take away from this). If her face were not thrust forward slightly like this, the photo would not be the same. Is this digital or film? Link to comment

myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted April 20, 2008 With what do you scan with? Are you doing a flat bed scan of a print or a scan of the negative. If negative, what scanner? Link to comment
jfox 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Canoscan 8600F...A film scan...Comes with negative holders for medium and 35...Does well and not too expensive Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Lovely B&W portrait...I really like how you used the available light for this shot and the grainy effect is excellent. Wonderful expression and nice composition. Well done. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted April 20, 2008 The 8600F does a nice job. I usually use the Microtek Artixscan 120tf. The price is down now but expensive when I bought.I have a S2Pro 12megapixel camera but it is inferior to film scanned or otherwise.Because of import tax I cannot buy anything in Israel. When something wears out or breakes -thats it. I cannot replace it. If I double the price of your 8600 scanner with VAT (tax) still afordable. A big reason why I ask about equipment. Thanks.
