cherlyn 1 Posted April 18, 2008 When Princess Wencheng passed through this area with the Jowo Skakyamuni statue as her dowry on the way to Lhasa, in the 7th Century, the statue asked to be left behind in Tagong. SInce the princess did not want to upset the emperor, the statue was copied on the spot, & the copy is still visible in one wing of the monastery. Well believe it or not on the talking statue, its a legend passed down. Link to comment

dseltzer 0 Posted April 21, 2008 So wonderfully vibrant and colorful, this is a very strong image. Did you shoot this with a polarizer? Looks like you may have. And if you'll forgive me, one small nit: my eye keeps wanting to tilt the image about two degrees to the right. What do you think? Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted April 21, 2008 Thanks David for the touch-up. Indeed looks better, I should have seen it myself :-) This lens is not fitted with a polarizer, the sky is originally as blue & clear as seen here. Link to comment
dseltzer 0 Posted April 21, 2008 No polarizer, eh? Well, that can only mean that you have air you cannot see, like we did before we started filling it with all manner of junk! If I had skies like these, I wouldn't even think of using a polarizer. Link to comment
