aepelbacher 0 Posted April 18, 2008 Maybe not extraordinarily "pretty", but the shot came out crystal clear, and I couldn't resist posting it! :-) Link to comment

garry_young1 1 Posted April 18, 2008 Wow Lou Ann, I would argue that it is indeed very pretty. Definitely nice and crisp with great DOF. Great first shot of a butterfly. I have yet to presuade them to let me get up close! Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted April 18, 2008 Thanks, gentlemen! I am flabbergasted at the early ratings on this! Most of them didn't let me get close - I was at a museum's live butterfly exhibit, so it was a bit easier than in "nature". The absolute "prettiest" ones, though, were most definitely elusive. Two beautiful blue ones that simply did not alight on ANYTHING for the whole half hour that I was there! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted April 18, 2008 Great shot! Wow, and at 135mm, you were close enough for a second date! :-)... Mike Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted April 18, 2008 Thanks, Mike - supposedly the 28-135 IS has a "macro" capability. I'm flakey enough to not know exactly what that means, but I assume that it means that you can be closer and still lock focus unlike other lenses. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong....) Not Here 93 Posted April 18, 2008 Ahhhh, I'll learn to read yet... I thought you were using the 18-135mm which does not, I don't believe, have macro. Good shot, regardless... Mike Link to comment
