This is very pretty and composed well.

I like it. I'm just wondering if it might have been a stronger image if the point where all the lines come together was placed further away from the center of the picture.

Bruce I think that would mean the shadows would have been elongated and distorted what I think are the near perfect spatial relationships betwee nthe umbrella support arms and the ribs of the umbrella.

 

Right now , as is, I see a couple of perceptual jokes going on in the interplay of umbrella surface and the projected shadow, and with the color relationships too. And at the same time it is also a 'pretty picture".

It is indeed pretty--very easy to look at and enjoy on a number of levels.

I like the way that the design on the parasol is dominated by the shadows. The first thing my eyes went to was the parachute shape shadows, and only later after looking at the pic for a while did I realize the design was not entirely there. I'm guessing that the handle of the parasol has been removed? If not it is perfectly aligned with the lens - and the dof is incredible! (or this kind of parasol is "handleless"!) Extremely pleasant shot.

It is a very attractive composition. You had the vision to see it and capture it. Dramatic combination of the umbrella spokes, the shadows and floral design against its back lit delicate fabric. Thanks for sharing. Regards ifti.
