short1 0 Posted April 18, 2008 This is an exceptionally elegant study:Placid, harmonious, simple, elegant. It has an Asian aesthetic, which I'm stiving to acheive in my ownwork. This is what portraiture should convey - the soul and essence of the subject, without contrivance. I suspect that if this were being judged by the Japanese, itwould take best of show. I can't tell if you employed skimmers,rim-lighting,or computer manipulation to acheive the ethereal glow around your model-but it hardly matters. The narrow DoF contributes a sense of intimacy and subtle sensuality to the portrait, and the viewer can become lost in this. Sorry, but I can't find anything to criticize. It's simply lovely, and from my perspective, unique and aesthetically perfect. You have a pair of sevens from me. Craig Unger, M.D., Col. USAF(Ret.) NB: You may have noticed that my computer is doing a Hal 9000 to me - sticking question marks wherever it pleases.Does spilling coffee on keyboards have an adverse effect?I wonder. Link to comment
