My Father

I think this is a great character shot of my father with a classic

expression; a snear of sorts. I tried to create the effect that I

have admired on others photos. Please let me know what you think.

Does it add or take away from the photo?

I'm out of my element judging portraits. You definitely captured the sneer, which I like. The highlights seem a bit much to me, and the tan looks like he got it in a tanning salon. Again, expression is great.

I love the expression. The red turtle neck offset by the blue shirt is very nice. His face seemed a little too high in contrast. The light colored hair gave him a "saint" look.;-) Overall a humorous portrait in my opinion.

Wow. He definately has never been in a tanning salon!!! Hahaha. He's naturely very red in colour but I think the colours he is wearing makes it dramatic. I have the original photo in my portfolio. Thanks for stopping and commenting. I appreciate your time.

Sonia... somewhere in between the two versions of this sneering image of your pop works...for me. This one is imo a bit over worked and the other is just maybe a little flat...I would be curious to see an example of what you were going for...I think you did good on the composition and the moment caught is priceless...! The colors work well too...Besides the sneer...your father looks like a good man...Juan

I think you are right though. A combination between the two would be best. I'm still trying to figure out this photomatix thing...
