pnital 36 Posted April 12, 2008 Toledo was declared a world heritage by UNESCO in 1986, . Was the capital of Spain before Madrid replaced its role. The city is surrounded in 3 sides by the Tagus river. Known as a rich Jewish cultural history in the middle ages, which is called " The golden age", which ended in the 15th century( known as the "Deportation from Spain"). Nowadays, it has a lot of historical monuments, belonging to the 3 religions. The jewish quarter, and two Synagogues are the reminders of the Jewish roles in the past era. Thanks for your thoughts. gordonjb 10,860 Posted April 13, 2008 A marvellous view. The river and line of trees across the front as well as the river along the side, make a nice border and a good contrast to the city rising above. I love the way the streets tumble down to the rivers edge. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted April 13, 2008 A truly magnificent setting Pnina. I love the perspective with the river running next to the city and "hugging" her. Link to comment
