Very fine piece, quality of the work is great and the dark athmosphere fits perfectly for the title. And i am not even missing any clouds from that empty sky. Just great. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you Tero for your kind words. Actually, I think more dramatic clouds would have detracted from the mood. Well, that is what was going on in my head anyway. Thank you again. Dan

A moody and contemplative atmosphere at work here. The decking looks almost ghostly and the entire scene has the sense of being an apparition which could disappear at any moment. Strange how claustrophobic this feels to me, given the wide open space you are portraying, perhaps the narrow tonal palette and that heavy sky bearing down on the scene give the effect. You always manage to pack so much feeling into your landscapes.

Hi, Dan! Sorry it's been so long since I've been around. I've found another website that I really love and can even sell my stuff there! :) Anyway, I've missed your work! Wish you were over there, too. If you get a chance, check it out...it's called Redbubble and it's free! :)

Anyway, about this pic...love the moody lighting here. You definitely have given the impression that this is at the end of the world and you could walk right off into nothingness if you chose too. Very cool. Love the detail in the wooden planks as well. Nicely done.

Marino, Milena, Adam, Paula, and Leslie thank you for you very much. I really do appreciate it.

Hey Leslie, it is nice to hear from you. I have not heard of Redbubble. I will have to check it out. Have you sold any? Dan

This is a wonderful work Dan. Piers have a very weird "charm", they go out to the ocean but stop suddenly. They welcome people that like to think and are not afraid of being alone. The underexposition and the "dark" fog effect set a very specific mood that I cannot describe. Very good.

Amazing and captivating image. Sort of spooky and depressing, but those are strong feelings, which for me, means excellent work.
