Yellow Arrow

Great color and the way the two diagonals of the roof and the arrow parallel each other works out perfectly.

Thanks David. I was trying to position myself just right to line up the arrow and the building, and I think I was pissing off the people behind me on the sidewalk, but it was worth it.

the little weak shadows just absolutely rock. fabulous image. deserves a 7/6 from me, (update:) which i have now given.

This is exactly the element of this sign I would have isolated. The light through the bulbs is a great flourish. Very cool.

I love the shadows of the light bulbs the most. You are going to force me to go out and take photos of the arrows around my town...

 

Do you have a lens that will give you an aperture of f/2.8 for this shot? I'd love to see the soft background appearance of this shot.

 

Thanks, Shawn. I was drawn to the shadows of the bulbs as well, especially the jagged shadow of the one broken bulb. Without having my camera in front of me, I'm not sure I can open it up that far, but I agree that it would look nice.
