Don't give up. This is well done. I especially love the reflection, electric for sure. The smoke under the fireworks lighting is cool. I'm happy you shared. Have a great weekend. 6/7

Hi Alberta, the size of the image does not unfortunatelly allow (with my screen at least) to show the entire picture in one go, so I first need to view the upper part, and then the second part. Maybe the 3/3 rater only saw the upper part, or only saw the lower part, so finally it is a 3+3=6/3+3=6 ? Joke aside, the reflections is really impressive, and I like the fact we can also see many details on the sea. Well done ! NB : I would be interested to see a "vertical panoramic" version by cropping on the left, buit also on the right (including the "blue" element). Cheers, Loic

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I will forget about the 3 / 3 raters. It's senseless.

Loic - I'm sorry to hear that you have to scroll to view this. I sized it for a 20" monitor. I hope that this attachment is better suited to your monitor. My husband thought the reflections made a great story, just the reflections.

Thanks all -

Very beautiful photo. Great skill ... even if no handheld. The smoke, the excellent reflections, the details and the atmosphere.3/3 are given only to interesting photos i think. Some bad photos are not rated at all. Warm regards Alberta.

And speaking of up, isn't it after midnight where you are? Time for rest, no?

Thank you all very much.

Hand held after a very strong Belgian beer, Lou Ann. Months and months of practice. Next stop, brain surgery. (Mine;)

I think we just played "Six Degrees of Joseph Popper" - I love the way one comment leads to a look and then another comment. Thanks for yours. It made me jump to your portfolio where I was rewarded with some very fine photos.

Cheers !

What an inspired choice to shoot the reflection also! You did a great job of nailing the fireworks . The reflection I love, it has turned the fireworks into a man-o-war jellyfish. The smoke as well as the sailboats are nice additions to the scene. Coincidently I was fooling around last week with lights reflected off of the Caribbean sea. Nothing quite this dramatic however.

Great minds think alike ;)

Thanks for your comments.

When I first looked at this photo for recent comments, I wasn't signed in. I was horrified to see that the word "job" in your comment was underlined and was, in fact, a link to an executive job search. Any clue as to what Photo.net is up to? I really object to advertising being inserted into comments.

So where are your Caribbean photo experiments? Didn't see any in your portfolio.

Cheers ~

I have no idea what happened with the link. I did not see it when I left my comment and it is gone now. I'll have to dig out my thesaurus and find another word for j*b

:)

I came down with the flu the last day of diving, so I have been moving very slowly. I will get around to doing some PP as soon as my head stops pounding. I picked up an underwater case for my Nikon Coolpix before I headed down. I have lots of underwater stuff to sort through as well.

Thanks, you are such a sweet soul. I am beginning to feel better today so by tomorrow I should be back in action ... whatever that means :)

I keep coming back to this shot . Splendid capture!
