Great idea...almost great execution! I suggest you clone out the blue in upper left, and give the bud more focus, more clarity. I like how your fingerprint is only slightly out of focus. I think your dof would be better this way. Just my humble suggestion. Best wishes...

Thanks Lori. I appreciate your advice. I think jpeg compression may have contributed to this problem, as well as the reduced size of the shot. The full sized RAW has amazing detail on the very front of the bud, the purple and yellow places. But the other problem is the lens is a homemade lens with an incredibly small DOF. I only shoot on smallest aperture, but it still has only about 0.3mm DOF, and this tiny flower was at least 1mm in depth. I agree about the top left blue. That actually would be an easy crop!
