When my teachers professed the "Golden Rule" back in school, they

must have been referring to mornings such as this one I experienced

2 years ago. There's nothing quite like the deafening silence that

falls over everything during a golden sunrise. The gentle rolling

swoosh of golden illumunated fog rolling through the valley...as if

sneaking by the mountain, trying not to wake it. What an awesome way

to start the day! Hello, my name is Rick and I'm crazy about

nature! :)

Truly beautiful, Rick. Wonderful composition, colors, light, clarity. And you're right, an awesome way to start one's day! You're so fortunate to live in such a picturesque environment.

Fantastic Rick! One of my favorite images from your portfolio. You took this 2 years ago??!!! I would have posted this the day I got it on my hard drive! It also looks way cool with a crop from the sides into a vertical...

Michael, that's a HUGE compliment coming from you...I'm glad you liked it :). I usually post a few images from a trip, then walk away from processing for a lot of reasons. I like to find treasures later, especially when I dont get a chance to get out...also, I dont want to bore others or myself with repetitious posts. Thanks again! If you ever get out this way, perhaps we'll get out shooting somewhere.

I'm with Michael, why did you take this long to share this? This is incredible! The glow on that mist is just amazing! Did you use a grad at all? If so I might be tempted to bring out a little more luminosity in the mountain snow. This just has peaceful morning written all over it. Most excellent!

Does it get any better than this? Also, I enjoyed your commentary.

Kind Regards,

Floris,

Thanks for the comments! This is one shot, no grad used...although I did double process the raw file. As for waiting, I've got a bunch of images that I've processed and neve returned to that folder to harvest anymore till much later.
