I had an old roll of past dated film to use up so this is what I did

with it.

Great capture. I love when animals show "human" emotions. I also recently took some winter shots with blue jays

to all who visited and kind enough to share their thoughts. I wish you all good fortune!

Shea, yes indeed I know what you mean; I love that capacity too. It's really amazing when one considers that this fellow's brain is smaller than my fingernail! Says a lot for how those neurons came togther. Regards.

Thanks Timo. Yes, the 6x7 is not really amenable to avian portraiture, no doubt about that. The focusing of the 400 Takumar is rather slow and, of course, the DOF in MF is nil. Still, I prefer to try to obtain a good result with this setup because of the ability to print so much larger than what most DSLRs will allow.

Being a glutton for punishment, I am also using my 4x5 outfit in this genre! The effort is not without problems, but the rewards are worth it. Regards.

I have been meaning to get back to this Walter. It is perfect in every way. The placement of the subject, the blue tones, the focus on the eyes. I had to put this in my daytimer. Photo.Net has contributed so much to my organizational skills.

I hope it has warmed up in your neck of the woods, Walt! This makes me cold looking at it. Nice colors & tones and a very pleasing shot.

Thanks for the visit Kim. It has been a nice Spring so far but it dropped down to 26 degrees last night! No doubt, come August, when it is 98 in the shade I will be complaining then too ;0) Regards.
