jmcconnell2 0 Posted April 2, 2008 Beautiful scene and I like the exposure, the snow is not blown-out. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted April 2, 2008 Jim, Tough to get details in the snow with this type of lighting but easy enough to keep it from blowing out. This lonely tree just cried out to be photographed & my only regret is not being able to place it totally against the snowy background. Another that works well in B&W too. Best, LM. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted April 7, 2008 We are in full spring and you are still freezing?...;-)) Freezing or not, the result is very beautiful and delicate in its appearance. I like the bit of blue in the sky that connects nicely to the soft bluish snow.I think that it will be nice to see the same places you photographed in winter when the spring is in full bloom! LenMarriott 9 Posted April 8, 2008 Pnina, The snow & sky colour are two reasons I did not convert to B&W though I think it would work equally as well in that form. Spring is here as I write this (50F & much smaller snowbanks :-)) I do hope to revisit some of these sites in different seasons though without the snow for contrast we'll have to conjure up some specular & more directional light. (early morning sunlight might do the trick). Best, LM. Link to comment
greg mccracken 13 Posted April 8, 2008 Lovely shot, Len! The subtle shadow under the tree really catches my eye. i also like the way you kept the fence in the bottom corner! Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted April 9, 2008 Greg, Good to see you on line again. I left the fence in as I thought it provided better balance, a small counterpoint if you will. Best, LM. Link to comment
