Where is South Philadephia?

Meir: South Philadelphia is generally considered to be that part of Philadelphia that is below South Street--in the section in which you apparently photographed your notable image, "Heat Wave," in 1993. This photo was taken in the waterfront neighborhood of Pennsport--adjacent to the Delaware River and below Washington Avenue. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers...Bill

What a wonderful, telling portrait, Bill. Her aged skin, the condition of her sweater, and the brown paper she clutches speak of a hard life, and yet her expression seems to indicate a certain dignity in spite of the difficulties.
