Metallic objects and tattoos like this... no. Makes me dislike the photo.

I Disagree! She's a beautiful model and the extras add character to the shot. The lighting and colors are done to perfection! Keep up the good work!

What's the saying? To each his own?? This kind of body ornamentation gets a reaction one way or another, and perhaps this is Jim's intent with the image. As far as the photo goes, I don't find it interesting or appealing. Just my critique of it. I'll leave it there.

I've always been partial to tattoos and piercings, particularly on beautiful women. I do know quite a few photographers who refuse to photograph ladies with tattoos, but for me, tattoos are just another form of self-expression, just as photography is. I also feel that tattoos and piercings often give some extra visual punch to a photograph. And I feel an affinity for people who wish to be different.

 

I question what people who rate this photograph low are looking for or seeing. I think this is one of those photographs where the subject provides the "originality." Her unique look elevates the photo out of the glamour category, in my opinion.

 

This is a very strong pose for her and shows off her figure very well...and it's excellent color work from you. I also think your intent here is to show personality and character, rather than doing a simple glamour shot.

 

If I could change anything about this shot, it would be to have her looking directly into the lens. I think she has a strong face, and probably has a strong and self-confident personality which would be reinforced even more by a look into the lens. Um-m-m...and on second thought, I'd do it in black and white...but that's just me being my b&w self.

 

I'm not saying the eyes-averted look doesn't "work." Just expressing a personal preference. Wish I had the opportunity to photograph her.
