Descent Aiguille du Midi
I captured this image of climbers heading down a cornice ridge to the glacier below. I would be following in their tracks shortly to ski down the glacier. While on the ridge, I encounter problems with my ill fitting crampons, which kept "unspringing" from my ski boot. I sat down on the ridge, which was about 3 feet wide, and removed the crampons. I continued the descent with dry mouth & nerved out beyond belief, taking each step like it might be my last, because it could have. Fortunately, all things ended happily but many lessons learned the hard way. Originally a color image, but I liked the B&W better.
