leo burkey 0 Posted March 25, 2008 Hugh slabs of granite are constantly falling off the cliff faces in Yosemite and depositing themselves in the Merced River. They are most noticeable in the summer months when the water level is lowest. Link to comment
copeg 0 Posted March 25, 2008 There is really a lot I like about this shot. I get a genuine sense of scale with the backdrop of the granite wall, and like the foreground granite slab - both together presented like this they seem to speak to me. I wouldn't mind seeing a tad more room on the bottom, but that's a personal preference....nice shot! Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted March 26, 2008 Thanks for your comment and I actually had cropped the foreground so there is plenty of room to add some back. I will take a look at it again with more foreground. Link to comment

rbanfield 0 Posted March 27, 2008 Thanks for the tip! This is very cool. Beautiful tonal range and really love the lightness of the background. Can't wait to shoot the Merced and Yosemite. Hope mine turn out half as good as your black and white captures...RAY Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted March 27, 2008 This has a wonderful old-time feel and quality to it. To my eye there are probably two images here: (1) with some FG water added and a crop down from the top; and (2) this image as posted. Fabulous tonal range; really great work bringing out the various tones of the grees. Excellent composition too! Nice work, Leo! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
