marcadamus 1 Posted March 19, 2008 Oregon's Mount Jefferson emerges from after the Winter's first heavy snows. Captured back on September 18th. Thanks for your comments. Link to comment
john_langley2 0 Posted March 19, 2008 I love how I am drawn into the image by all the various elements and textures. The blue tones very much enhance this fine capture ! john Link to comment

marcadamus 1 Posted March 19, 2008 You can see the color version posted here: http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/ic.cgi?a=vp&pr=93628&CGISESSID=520262c4332796440bc89dca7c7445dc&u=27908 Using the blue channel in my B&W conversion really brings out the sky. Link to comment
richygale 0 Posted March 19, 2008 this is just superb Mark I love the composition you could not have positiond the clouds any better, very well done. Rich. Link to comment
harrylichtman 0 Posted March 19, 2008 Great textures. The two snow covered rocks really dirct me toward the peak. While I like the snow and shadows, there seems to be a little too much snow at the bottom of the frame that lacks the wavy gravy of the side. Maybe a tighter crop? I realize that you can't have one without the other. Maybe a slight change in camera position- but I bet you covered all of the possible angles. Thanks for taking me into the wilds. ewert02 0 Posted March 19, 2008 Nice conversion here. The exploding clouds around the mountain add a level of uniqueness that is present in most of your shots. BTW, congrats on getting the cover of Popular Photography again!! Link to comment
simay_zsolt 0 Posted March 20, 2008 I love B&W landscapes, and yours are absolutely amazing. Can't find the words. Link to comment
xavier_jamonet1 0 Posted March 20, 2008 Another wonderfull image in your portfolio, Marc. I love the purity of the snow and the mountain, emerging from the clouds. A great great composition! Here in France, winter will come back for one week before the spring... I hope seeing such quantities of snow! Regards Xavier Link to comment
snapshot1 0 Posted March 21, 2008 I love the mountain bursting from the clouds. The foreground is distracting with the 2 snow peaks. The snow detail does not add to the shot which is all about the mountain. The eye needs not waste time in the non aesthetic foreground. I think you definitely need to crop at the midline and go horizontal for the real deal. The BW is stunning. Color looks weak. Link to comment
karolostrivizas 0 Posted March 26, 2008 One more of your unique landscapes. Glorious presentation of the imposing summit. The texture and the tones of the snow are perfectly written. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted March 30, 2008 It doesn't get any better than this. Marc, you are right up there with Ansel Adams in my book--and you go way out into the wilderness to get many of your shots, which makes you even better, in my opinion. --Lannie Link to comment
kory1 0 Posted April 3, 2008 As usual, you have knocked it out of the park. I'd give it a 7/7, but I know you don't care about numerical ratings, so I won't bother. Besides, a "7" just doesn't seem right for an image such as this. This sucker should be a "10" or something, lolz. :D Peace. Link to comment
alextremps 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Espectacular disfrute visual! Como el blanco puede dotar una fotografia de tantos tonos diferentes y crear una imagen tan viva!! Link to comment
melloncollie 0 Posted April 10, 2008 very powerful and dynamic! an excellent image. i agree with Kory, 7/7 points or more. Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted April 25, 2008 This view is spectacular. The whole composition is fanning out from the center, the snow and the clouds, in the center is the mountain top. Very good image. As your many other works. Cheers; Bela Link to comment
