soniam 6 Posted March 19, 2008 Please let me know what you think. Contrasts and crop ok? Thank you for your time. Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted March 19, 2008 Thank you Mary. I appreciate your time. I altered it a bit by making the moon a little larger than the original but that's all. Just wondering if the colours and contrasts are ok. Thanks again for stopping by. Link to comment
margaret1 0 Posted March 20, 2008 This is lovely, Sonia. It has all of the elements. Where was it shot? Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted March 20, 2008 Took this photo on a small Island of Tabacco Caye in Belize almost 3 weeks ago. It was about 6:30 in the morning which is why there is a warm glow of light on the tree trunk and a bit of the branch. Thank you very much for stopping by. I appreciate you time. Link to comment
anish 0 Posted March 21, 2008 If the color of the sky is accurate, this looks like well past sunset, in which case the moon's apparent brightness would be much higher than what you have here. Boosting the whites would help. Also, possibly due to re-sizing the moon, there is a strong grain pattern visible on the dark half of the moon. This hurts an otherwise simple and effective composition. A little bit of adjustment, and you have yourself a very nice image here. Anish Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted March 24, 2008 Thank you for your critique. I in fact did not change the colour of the sky and it really was sunrise. I think you are right about boosting the white t make the moon stand out better. I'm obviously just learing about post processing and I'm not sure how to avoid the grainy dark side of the moon. I'll figure it out eventually, I'm sure. Thanks very much for your time. Link to comment
jfrey43 0 Posted March 24, 2009 I like the shot as well. Very nice. I too chase the moon with my camera and did get shots of the eclipse. I like this one as the palm tree nearly envelopes the moon. Nice framing. I may have boosted the highlights a bit to bring out the moon, but not too much. Link to comment
