skyjammer 0 Posted March 18, 2008 Beautiful capture of light, beautiful capture of mood, and a beautiful application of framing. The image is a masterful one. I can alsmost hear the high note struck. As usual, your portraits continue to inspire. Best Regards, -Ade P.S. - Ironically, a friend of mine recently bought the lens you used for this shot, and he loves it for portraits. Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted March 18, 2008 Teresa, Pat, Doug, Ton, Joseph, Ade -- Thanks so much for taking time to comment. (Ade, I love the 85mm, f/1.8. I use it constantly.) Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted March 18, 2008 Another winner in this lovely series. I particularly love the demarkation created by the wand. Oddly, the wand is steadier than his face, which strikes me as a reversal of what we might expect, in that the wand should be moving much faster than his head. Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted March 18, 2008 Thanks for taking a look. He was playing a slow piece, and the bow movement was restrained. At the moment I took this, I think he also moved the violin a tad. Thus the slight blurring of the bridge. Link to comment
dseltzer 0 Posted March 18, 2008 Of course this is beautiful, just as everyone has said, and as the others in the series. What strikes me the most, and it took me awhile to articulate, is how the skin on this musician, and the one playing penny flute, glistens with the passion of being one with his music. I'm torn about the rest of his violin... part of me wants to see just a touch of strings, yet I can easily see why you've presented it as you have. It's a wonderful shot. Warm regards, my friend. pnital 36 Posted March 18, 2008 Joe, the timing of his inner concentration is wonderfully presented, very well framed his face, and I like the diagonal instrument part that adds a nice tension to the whole. very well used light and B/W in this one. Link to comment
