Hi Gerald, thanks for the comment on my hawk picture, I shot with the aperture wide-open, f/4.0, to get a shallow depth-of-field and keep the background blurred. That lens has a nice bokeh. Now, about this photo, that is a beautiful bird, I love the colors and the exposure, could it be sharper around the head and eyes?

Diagonal perch and colorful bird. Looks like light was coming from above. Your focus is on the wing feathers and head and eyes are soft. 18-200 VR is a very good lens.

Set the aperture at 8-11 at aperture priority mode, Choose spot focus. Move the focus dot at the head of the bird when eyes are sharp in focus you have it. Thanks for sharing. Regards ifti
