jmcconnell2 0 Posted March 17, 2008 Hi Gerald, thanks for the comment on my hawk picture, I shot with the aperture wide-open, f/4.0, to get a shallow depth-of-field and keep the background blurred. That lens has a nice bokeh. Now, about this photo, that is a beautiful bird, I love the colors and the exposure, could it be sharper around the head and eyes? Link to comment

ifti 1 Posted March 24, 2008 Diagonal perch and colorful bird. Looks like light was coming from above. Your focus is on the wing feathers and head and eyes are soft. 18-200 VR is a very good lens. Set the aperture at 8-11 at aperture priority mode, Choose spot focus. Move the focus dot at the head of the bird when eyes are sharp in focus you have it. Thanks for sharing.
