I like the idea better than the picture -- but these little critters are hard to catch in a viewfinder. (Hard to catch, period. I used to try as a kid.)

Good catch of an agile creature, and it fills the frame too (any cropping?). Btw this is some kind of insect, not a water spider.

Yes, it is cropped a bit. 'Water Spider' is what we called them growing up, but, as you point out, I don't know the proper name. Thanks for your comments. Joe

would be to see a largemouth bass right below the surface of the water, jaw wide open, ready to grab a meal!

Even still, this is a fantastic image. I do like the colorful reflection you've captured to.
