pnital 36 Posted March 14, 2008 Amit in a rehearsal playing on Viola de Gamba. The BG is the wing of a beautiful Chembalo Thanks for your impressions. Link to comment
Matt Laur 2,201 Posted March 14, 2008 Delightful. Such spaces often have awkward lighting, but in this case it contributes to the sense of sitting nearby and watching him practice. It's intimate, and casual (and what beautiful instruments!). Link to comment

dirtlawyer 0 Posted March 14, 2008 Pearl, great shot with very nice lighting and detail. And I never knew that a viola de gamba had so many strings! Link to comment

jcpopper 0 Posted March 15, 2008 What a fine and lovely image. (A fine title, as well.) Warm regards... Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted March 15, 2008 I love the lines in the shot, which create a sense of rhythm. The prop to the piano lid paired with the neck of the cello(?). The arc of his arm paired with the arc of the piano in the background. A lovely melding of man and music. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 15, 2008 all of you.Very much appreciated your contribution Gerald, vioila de gamba can have between 3 - 6 strings... Jeff, it is a Viola da gamba, it is the right name of it...,smaller in size than a cello. The BG, is the wing of a beautiful chembalo. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted March 15, 2008 Well chosen bg for the musician. His engrossment is well captured from his serious eyes & expression. Link to comment

pepmir 0 Posted March 16, 2008 I had cut away for the left side and had extended the space for right. It is everything opposite of what is in the habit of being done but in my humble opinion the photo still would have been better. A greeting. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted March 16, 2008 I like this double portrait, but the emotion is made by his eyes and especially his musical fingers. Well done as so often when it comes from you Pnina. Link to comment

dseltzer 0 Posted March 19, 2008 As you always follow the light, so you have here with the musician's hand and fingers and the strings highlighted the most... the musician's point's of focus, too. And his face mostly in shadow adds a nice drama to his intensity. I also like the bright strut of the chembalo that echoes the position of the Viola de gamba. I've never seen a stringed instrument with an actual head carved on the head piece like this one. No surprise it is the head of a woman, and she has curly hair like the man who is holding her so gently. This image is a treat to the eye in many ways. Link to comment
