Dynamic range seemed to be super wide. Was this HDR or manually merged?

Beautiful!

Hi Arthur, I extracted this from a single exposure, using a combination of raw conversion settings and PS adjustments. As well as, some selective dodging and burning.

Les, Rejith and Massimo, thanks very much for your views and comments!

Peter, all your pictures are very dramatic and technically perfect. I like especially this one of your latest submissions.regards, maria

Peter this is a beautiful shot. I love the clouds and you the way you have composed this. My only criticism is that it seems a little to high in contrast. Maybe it's too over sharpened? The tree on the right almost looks like it is imposed onto its background. Still, great shot. J

Matthew, Regina, Antoni and Maria; thanks very much for your impressions.

I'm grateful for your time and input!

G'day James! I'll have to ask you, at some stage, how you ended up in my Tasmanian portfolio...

My usual response (excuse) to your kind of observations is that, in an ideal world, we should all have the same (calibrated) computer displays, whilst viewing images on the Net. Secondly, yes you could be right...

I've always struggled to reduce a 4374x2917-pixel image (72Mb TIFF) down to a relatively small jpeg for the Web. It seems that this is especially hard with landscapes. Otherwise, there is something wrong with my digital workflow...

Cheers,

Antoni, I used a Canon 5D with a 17-40mm f4.0 L, at the widest end and a Hoya circular polarising filter.

Post processing was done in Raw Essentials Premium and CS3.

Peter, I thank you for your reply. At 10mp my camera produces 9 to 14 Mb RAW files. I have never worked with tiffs so I was amazed by the size of your file.

Be well...
