Here's a shot of Black Panther Party co-founder Bobby Seale in jail in

San Francisco in 1970 awaiting extradition to New Haven, Connecticut,

to stand trial in a highly-controversial and widely-denounced murder

case. Seale's trial ended in a hung jury, and the government chose not

to retry.

Nice Portrait. Very good black and white image.

 

I remember that trial very well as I was in college in New Haven at the time. What a troubled period in our country.

Even without reading your explanation of the photo, I can see in his face that there is a story to be told. Wonderful shot. Such a shame. I would suggest cropping a bit off the top. Thanks for sharing this Bill
