What a strange photo is this.

This good photo with the man and his roots stands before the "flag".

Macabre.

With regards.

I don't think the flag is strange. It makes the picture that much more interesting and thoughtful. Nice use of sun light and grain.

Ouch Jim...I am not sure what you mean by so over done...? Like images of flowers and old barns...? maybe puppies too....? Saying that photographing something is so over done... to me sounds like projection...As artists... we all struggle to create... We both love to shoot old barns...right?...How many of those barns can we shoot before it's over done???

Art IS the process of producing IT.

Sorry Michael I couldn't help myself...When I saw this one with the other color images I guess it sort of stuck out...His focused look seemed to be as much as or more colorful than the other ones...for me. The strong contrast and the subtle mid tones work for me as well...but the real contrast of this image is the flag. Amazing how much as humans we can forgive...nice image..juan

Juan , thank you for the comment on my photo, I always apreciate it when someone "gets" one of my photos.I think the poster above just mis-wrote what they were trying to say, as they gave me a 7/7 on the photo. I have not heard from you in a while and although I check your portfolio now and then , its nice to hear from you and that you did not freeze this winter.

You would think that with about 130 inches of snow we would of froze our butts off...but in truth it was a very mild winter...it was only below 0 degrees a few days...I never put on a parka this winter...there was only one day I wish I had...Your portfolio just keeps growing...I too visit from time to time and continue to be in AWE...Hope you continue to find Happiness in shooting...! I had noticed Jim had given you many appropriate ratings...that's why I was confused on what he had wrote....Peace....Juan

quintessential America(na). Including that flag was a master stroke. Juan is right, it stuck out. I also like the expression very much, especially in the overall context.
