It's a good shot of a difficult subject. Maybe there's just too much 'ink' in the liquid? One simple dispersion pattern might have been better, and without the pooling in the bottom of the glass. But I still like it.

I used to use a studio that shot a lot of glassware commercially. I can't remember much about their set-ups, but I do recall they used a translucent base to stand glass on, and then put in some lighting from below. Might be worth a try.
