This house has character and really stands out in the middle of this landscape. The perspective created by the posts lead the viewer straight to the house. Thanks for taking us in this great road trip. I feel like I am traveling throughout Israel with your pictures Pnina.

This is a beauty. I like the perspective , allowing the viewer to enjoy the rolling hills, demarcations, and paths bordered by mountains, the dangling gossamer cloud, and the rich earthiness throughout. Cleverly titled!

When I look at this I'm struck by how harsh, barren and unfriendly those hills in the background appear, and by the contrast of the cultivated and conquered land in the foreground. We humans have such ingenuity and such capability to alter our world. It's frightening, and yet reassuring. This one pulls at the heartstrings for some reason.

Hi Pnina, This is a beautiful portrayal of the Galil. reading the comments above I think you have been able to convey the feeling and atmosphere of the Galil to people that have never been there as well, that is a sign of a great photograph.

...amidst this vast landscape makes this a true winner of a shot. Larger IS better.

I very much like the way how carefully you built up your composition here. And it works really well. But I have to disagree on that toning. I think those sepia and copper tones don't do much good to your photo's that you showed recently. It's not because I prefer b&w but I really do think this one would look so much better without that toning.

Pnina,presenting it this way made it looked like

a brush stroke composition with layers of toning

shades. It looked unique.

Ton, don't tell me stories...;-))I KNOW that you have a strong bias to B/W !

So here is again the colored and B/W version, and tell me what do you think is your preferance ....LOL

And your B/W Version Ton! I hope it will make harder your choice ...lol

Hi Pnina, I think they are both better than you're toned one. It won't surprise you that in the end I prefer the b&w version. It looks so much better.

BUT, I respect your choice, even it looks that you are a minority...The sepia "talks" to me and others (I wonder if they will change their mind seeing the other versions)..

 

Anyway, if I do another landscape I will do it as well ,right away ,in B/W for you ..;-))

Just think about that image of those olive trees. I'll win you over eventually and meet you in the black zone!!!

Pnina, I like the transition from dark to light, and also in the textures, from bottom to top. Your processing is great, but it takes getting used to. Good work!

I like simple land scenery...capturing & sharing a strolling moment peaceful and quiet...as simple as that...I like the tree line parallel to the mountain top...the sepia tone is totally nostalgic, to use with caution otherwise I am going to switch into nostalgia mood even further...:-)...a real cool image Pnina...

Pnina, I'm not sure I can say it any better than that. But, I thought I'd share that I agree whole-heartedly with the sentiments.

 

I certainly don't mind the sepia and I agree it adds an antiquated and nostalgic quality to this. But, I probably personally prefer a less aggressive toning. But, you'd lose some of that nostalgia.
