Enough "play" ... I'm back to the Oklahoma City Memorial shots. There are a lot of them, and I want to eventually get them all in my portfolio, so I'll interrupt myself every now and then with more current stuff.

These chairs really really really *moved* me. They are arranged according to what floor of the building the person was on who was killed. The small ones represent children.......

Any thoughts on this?

nicely done, I had the opportunity to go here several years ago. Although, my level of photogragphy is still low compared to some, it has improved since i last visited here, and i want to go back.

I;ve got one of the chairs in my profile, also b&w. check it out!

it's an interesting abstract but I think I would have wanted more black and white contrast, the photo has only greys and no white.

Ivanovici - I appreciate your technical input. I played with the levels before converting it to B&W ... should I do the B&W conversion first and then play with levels? Do you see the shiny part in the base of a chair near the top right? The levels histogram told me that I was clipping the brights at that spot.... Let me play with it later today (or tomorrow) and I'll post another try at this as an attachment...

Okay, it's not so much afternoon yet, but I was contemplating this image, because I really don't know enough about B&W conversions to know when there should be whites included. For example, if there is no white in an image in color, should there even be whites in the B&W conversion? (Same question with blacks...)

Anyway - here's a rework of the image. Let me know what you think....

First off, thanks!! If i re-shot the picture, I would like to get more of the reflecting pool and the chairs. or the wall with hand prints.

two things: I like your change b/c it add contrast and brightens up the picture. However, you also loose some detail in the chairs. but what do i know, I'm only 17 right!! I think its one of those things you need to play around with, and see what YOU like.
