jmcconnell2 0 Posted March 4, 2008 Hi Gerald, you want my opinion, you got it, not sharp enough, and dof is not inclusive enough. Link to comment
ifti 1 Posted March 11, 2008 You composed it good and colors are attractive. It is overall too soft and looks a bit over exposed at the head and perch. There can be number of reasons. Sigma is a big lens there is no VR and if hand held a minor vibration can mean disaster. I have sigma 135-400 and any time I get a good picture is on tripod or shutter speed over 1000. I have read somewhere that for acceptable results with hand held shutter speed should be twice the focal length. Thanks for sharing. Regards ifti. Link to comment
dirtlawyer 0 Posted March 11, 2008 Thanx for your comments. The lens is now at Sigma for repair. I shot off a tripod, with a remote shutter release. I also cropped the photo to eliminate some hardware that was holding the perch in place. Today, being without my Bigma, I'm going back to shoot closeups of lorikeets. Link to comment
lyoung 0 Posted March 22, 2008 A little out of focus but the colors are beautiful. Very nice bird and I like your cropping/composition. Link to comment
