Shall we have a picnic?

While I was at the playground, I noticed a few benches and this picnic table that didn't really have any fresh footprints nearby ... the snow was pretty much undisturbed. Thought it would make a nice simple shot. Thoughts?

I like the emptiness of the scene. The untouched snow on the table and ground covers all signs of detail, character, or human life.

Like Doug, I like the simplicity of the scene. The table, covered with snow and the lone icicle tell the complete story... sitting and waiting, all alone, for Spring. Great exposure with all the textures in the snow captured... Mike

Well, so far it's unanimous .... the simplicity and emptiness of this scene are the beauty of it. It reminds me of the times at Chestnut Ridge Park in the winter when we'd have a picnic in the snow during breaks in sledding down that wonderful hill.

You know, believe it or not, I don't think that I've ever gone sledding at Chestnut Ridge.... Maybe I shouldn't ever admit to that.....

I'm glad I decided to look at your whole folder of recent images or I would have missed this and some other nice ones. I think I would have liked this better as more of a landscape image that shows the table in the middle of a field of snow, but I also know that what the viewer wants and what the photographer can provide are always two different matters. It is a good image as you've shown it and I was number 11 to say so!!!

Like others, I also like the simplicity here, the quietness implied by the blanket of snow, the simple shadows, the icicle that will fall noiselessly.
