tanyatruong 0 Posted March 3, 2008 I took this photo back in October 2007 during a ballet class of my nephew. I felt in love with this photo right away, and thought "could i call it a self-portrait?". I was not sure about calling a self-portrait because i've never seen anyone using one's shadow as such. Now, i feel more rightly to call it so after seeing the phenomenal photographic work of Lee Friedlander @ San Francisco Museum of Mordern Art a few weeks ago. It's almost like finding a lifetime closefriend (he doesn't know, it's my wishful thought :o)) Link to comment
marcogarrone 0 Posted March 3, 2008 it's a self-portrait, but it's also a lot more. very well exposed, as always, I love the slanted composition and the diagonal perspective. reminds somehow of rodchenko's early pictures. it's thriving with action, there's a whirl that's not just the kid's legs, it is the picture that joyfully whirling. marco Link to comment
tanyatruong 0 Posted March 4, 2008 Sometimes, i get...lucky ;o). I was in the right place, at the right time. The light was just perfect and these window frames...voila`...i saw a photo. I am happy that you like this self-portrait of mine :o). Link to comment
beng 0 Posted March 4, 2008 This is a good work. The diagonal pattern of light makes the composition more dynamic and make the dancer like flying in the air. Your own shadow also at the right corner of the frame. The few colors also make this photograph stand out. Link to comment
