Mike Marcotte 49,777 Posted March 4, 2008 You're right, it takes someone else to point things out sometimes. Usually I get the "too much sky" comment I had a problem with the foreground being out of focus, so I cheated, cropped it out & was left with a horizon right smack in the middle of the image, which is something I try to avoid. Thnaks for the comment, nice to get your input. Link to comment
mcclure 0 Posted March 5, 2008 lol -- What an amazing capture. No, you don't need more sky you need less. Crop the sky the same distance from the edge of the tree, "his better half" wouldn't allow to be cut to the ground, to the edge of the house and you have the house window and the deep ruts. The home is clearly empty, hopefully abandoned to the kids in favor of her pride in a solid wind break.A tripod will allow you to take the longer exposures (f22-f32) to DOF to your liking.Great image -- I can't wait to see the next!Best, john Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 49,777 Posted March 5, 2008 That's a good critique John. Thanks for that. Link to comment
osamu 0 Posted October 24, 2008 the mood captured by this photo is depressing ... it is a damn good pix ... i would cut the sky a litte and the eyes follow the road straight up to the tree and the house. the sky punctuates the mood ( ... but could use a little less so as to avoid drowning of the effects) --osamu Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 49,777 Posted October 26, 2008 Yes you're right, I've been told that pretty often. I tend to keave too much sky in my pictures, too much negative space at times. Good comment. Link to comment
nickmeertens 0 Posted November 7, 2008 You need more sky, you need less sky, what's a man gonna do!? Leave it just the way it is because it's exceptional!! Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 49,777 Posted November 8, 2008 Thank you Nick, The sky's the limit, or limit the skys? What to do. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted July 9, 2010 this is a great photo. It shows the vastness and emptiness of the place, yet it's not empty. It conveys the country feel very well. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
