What a story. The photo tells more than one zillion words. Super photo!

An excellent "mise en scene": the perfume of the old time, right tone of colour, in opposition with the eternal feminine and " savoir faire" of the personage, an appropiate decor, the black cat(!), the painting on the wall, an erect flower... About the dead people only the best! Applause! Regards, El

I am enjoying this as well. My only suggestion would be a different treatment of the framed image on the wall. Not a mirror type 'feel' yet more of a painting the artist has done when he was alive.

Since you ask, the first thing that dropped into my mind was poison, rat poison. I guess she can't have it around anymore since the cat has to eat rats too. Yes, the artist was one sort of rat. The artist was brutal and treated her badly and eventually it was enough. So she decided to swap him to a beautiful flower and a pussy. Then again she could have had some wich craft and the artist is actually the kitty and now she controls all the money and the artist has to live on what she gives. Is that a samovar on top of the radio? I hear they can cause fires. A few years later this is burnt house and the lady has gone for Paris with a black dress.

Juha, you have such an active mind. Your interpretation cracks me up.

My thought on this:

It is an excellent image with lots of imaginations and hidden messages. My interpretation: "If you can do it, I can do it better."

I agree with Hugh's comment. Photography at its best. A feel of an old glam and sensuality. Best regards, Tanya.

Hello Alex,

I have just noticed your have a very weird rating, 6 for Aesthetics and 3 for Originality. Well, I would just like to let the voter know that if THIS shot is not original, I am so very curious about what he/she feels is original.

The human mind is absolutely fascinating...

Other than this, my compliments, this shot indeed tells the story of a thousand words.

Truly inspiring, this absolutely stunning; all around from the little black cat stooping on the floor, to the picture behind the woman... it all comes together in a dark yet romantic union that is wonderful...

I love this shoot. Especially the cat eyeing those milk bottles the way we are eyeing the model. :)

A fun shot that deserves exploration. I am sure it tells a lot about the author of all this . My eye falls on the old Stereo Telefunken radio and the black cat under the tripod at just a place where you would ask a cat to pose if you could ask a cat to do anything. The table top of a long stemmed something is a great joke..turning the tables from erotic stockings to flowers is a long stretch of playful commentary. The slight sepia works well. The almost full milk bottle is great..We haven't seen milk bottles for decades..the bright window gives a coloration that is perfect. A splendid image. What more can one add...humble set to start with, the touch of the artist at play in the humble almost mundane apartment like metropolitan wallpapered over "set." Bravo,

The story that comes to my mind, is that she's missing her dead artist husband, and thus using his camera, dressed in the clothes that she would pose for him (as indicated by the photograph on the wall), to reminisce.
She misses him much.

The eerie part is also the religious CROSS on the window, also shown in the picture on the wall.

Now she's alone with the cat, interesting detail with the spilt milk, just makes the whole picture so naturally alive, yet so romanticized.

Sad, deep, & beautiful. Excellent work, great light, drama, & gorgeous model, sexy pose on her part too.
