I was inspired by Linda McLellan (I am often inspired by Linda McLellan!) to get out and shoot at a local playground. There were fewer children around this playground than there were at Linda's ... but the weather conditions were a bit different, too. :-)

My focus wasn't so philosophical as Linda's. I was looking to shoot shadows and the contours in the snow ... but ended up finding great shadows on the snow, and not many contours.

Thoughts?

Hi Lou Ann,

I saw all 4 photos of this serie. I think, they are all good abstract photos, but for me, the best is this one. Because of shadows and spiral graphic effect of course. Best wishes.

I really like this. The snow creates the perfect backdrop for those beautiful shadows, and I really like the pattern and repetition. Although many would probably say (and maybe already did say--I didn't read all the comments) they would prefer this in b&w, I really like it in color because I think the green really pops against the white of the snow.

I like this too! Couple of thoughts; first crop the top a touch to remove that dark little blip right on the edge; and, second, you might consider a crop up from the bottom to where the snow smooths out and the green coil does not come right out of the corner. I also agree that a black and white version might be fun to try. Cheers! Chris

SHADOWS!!! Of course you knew that I would like this one. The snow certainly does help to provide some good definition to the shadows and a vertical form of image is a must for this one. I like it!
