Why are egg yolks so much more orangey in Europe?

Thank you for visiting "Mind The Gap"! To answer your question: the standard yolk in Europe is - by definition - not orange anymore. A possible explanation is that hens collectively reduced the orange paint to keep production cost low.

On the photography the colour seems to be darker but that is the logical consequence when sitting in the gap... :) Regards, El.
