Guest Guest Posted March 1, 2008 I particularly respond to the softness with which you've approached this. You've provided a meaningful atmosphere to this old place. It's lonely and feels very familiar. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted March 2, 2008 Intriguing and foreboding. The light and mood are well captured. Link to comment
petemillis 0 Posted March 4, 2008 Blair Witch! As Fred said - this photograph works so well with the softness you have used. I like the vignetting here as well. Vignetting is not something that particularly moves me in any way, but here it is giving me the impression somehow of looking at the house while standing out of sight in the trees or in a corn field - almost like sneaking up on it but not wanting to go too close. The sense of foreboding mentioned above applies well. I'm looking for something that I would have done differently and can't find anything - it works very well. Link to comment
dougbrill 0 Posted March 4, 2008 Thanks Pete. I find your feelings about the image are very close to what I felt when shooting it. I was driving down a back road in Texas (I was there on a business trip with some time to burn) and came across this house. It had a old fence around it and it felt very spooky. I drove around a few times before I finally decided to shoot take out my camera and shoot it. And when I did I tried to do it fast and to move on. The vignette was added to give it an old look and feel. It is the first time I have done that but I do feel it works here. Thanks for the comments. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 7, 2008 Strong mood of isolation done by the bare trees, what looks a broken door and empty windows. The blurness is like a fading memory of another life here in the past. A touching image. Link to comment
