Superb in every way my friend. You carried the detail in the hair which was not easy and the facial capture is superb. I like where you placed her in the frame.

I guess you could have said "hair today, gone tomorrow".

I've threatened many men with dulling spray in the studio.

Oh, and I love the shot.

Cheers Peter

Strange, I often wonder if my monitor is badly regulated, I can hardly see the hair which is not only dark but lacks detail in my view. It certainly was a good idea though. The best thing on this page is your remark about people with hair. I really laughed out loud at that .. good one, lol.

Les, Your comment about the black is interesting. The thought has crossed my mind on more than one occasion when I use the black back drop. I will keep it in mind.

Owen, Kind words. I am not sure about the detail in the hair. I did want to convey the idea of movement as I did here. We did take a few shots of this type and the facial capture in them varies a lot.

Peter, I am lost for words (as well as hair) but I thank you for stopping by and I am glad you like the shot.

John, You should definitely see the hair. It is very clear on my monitor as it is in print. The detail is another thing. I did want to convey movement as mentioned in my reply to Owen but I take your point that if the hair was sharper it might be a better image. I guess I could have got the model to tilt her head 90 degrees and snapped the hair straight in a similar way to what I did here. Alternatively I could simply have used more light. In any case, thanks a lot for your input.

I didn't think my comment about people with hair was so funny but it is good to know you thought it was.

Excellent separation of hair and background. Not too much, not too little...just right. Lovely lady, lovely shot.

I hear what you are saying with regard to lighting... it is something others have commented on. If (and when) I do experiment, I will dedicate the image to you.
