Hi Tanni, This is a nice image for sure, the wing position is great. I think that some fill flash technique would help bring out the bird's colors and details more. The whites on the flower distract the eye as they are brighter than the subject. I also see some noise in the bg, do you use a noise reduction software?

Very pretty image! Nice background blur (a little noise though), nice composition and sharp head on your hummingbird. You needed a little more DOF to achieve sharpness on the entire flower. Very nice work though! Rgds Carole

David: Thank you so much for the tips. I will try taking it with the flash next time by. I too agreed the background has a bit of noise. I will try to use the noise reduction in the future. Thanks again for your input :)

 

Carole: Thanks for your comment. As far as the DOF goes, my intention was to capture the HB and not with the intention to focus on the flower itself. Therefore, I found that the DOF in this image is not necessary. Thanks again for your input :)
