vikingman 0 Posted March 2, 2008 Nice shot Karl. I have passed by Chingis several times and wished that i could pick it up and turn it around! To me the direction of the statue is all wrong, and it does not get good lighting from the sun at any time of year. His face is hardly ever well lit and even if it was, the background would be no good. Love your pictures, maybe I will bump into you one of these days! Link to comment
Karl Schuler 48 Posted March 2, 2008 Erik, Chinggis Khan was too big a man to tolerate somebody in front of him. Therefore only photos from behind him are acceptable ;-). Looking forward to meeting you one day. Karl Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted March 15, 2008 ... wouldn't tolerate another man in front of him. Just the emptiness beckoning him in the distance. Great tribute to a great leader. BTW, people MUST look at the larger version, gives you more of a sense of what it must really be like there. Link to comment
mirkal 1 Posted May 6, 2009 Well seen and well done from photographic point of view. I’m just surprised with glorifying comments about mass-murder who terrified Europe for decades and killed everybody who cross his path killing 1/3 part of Europe population in that times following with plague he and his soldiers brought to Europe and finished his job. Your famous and admired Khan's job was documented by contemporaneous chronicler who mentioned he travelled 2 weeks through today's Central and Western Europe in Khan times without meeting a one single living human being. Do you at least know the basic history what kind of monster was Khan? Link to comment
