Terrific black and white work here, my friend! As Michael says, the black and white and the lighting conditions really do enhance the feeling of abandonment and desolation. Just curious; is this located around the Bakersfield area in the foothills; or is it over on the west side of the valley near the Carrizo Plain? Well done, Mark! Cheers! Chris

Thanks Michael and Chris. This is along hwy 58 near the Temblor Range summit. That would be San Diego creek in the scene. A few miles over my right shoulder and you come to the 7 mile road and then Carrizo Plain.

I knew it! I actually think I've been here and looked down on that old homestead. Geez, you caught some good light. I was kinda thinkin' about heading out that way this weekend. I know the weather is supposed to be sketchy, but that's where the great skies come from in California - LOL! On the sunny days in California, there isn't a cloud for 600 miles usually.
