Wow...amazingly beautiful. Beautiful symmetry in the foreground and the clouds. Absolutely no critique. Very sharp and even in the web version it seems there is so much clarity and plethora of information ... Very beautiful.

Spectacular detail and color quality. This location is really amazing, too. Compositionally, the particular cloud type at this time is probably the best you could have hoped for because the cells are comparable in scale to the repeating rock structures. I am wondering how you like this particular lens you used. It's a lot of money for a limited WA range but you are a master of WA landscapes. Cheers.

You obviously get up early, hike far, and wear lots of warm clothing. This, along with the rest of you work, is excellent. Thanks for sharing your passion for the outdoors.

Kurt, I think the new 16-35 is without a doubt the best ultra-wide zoom available for Canon's system. It is among my better lenses throughout the range but not quite perfect. Edge to edge and corner sharpness are particularly remarkable, given the extreme angle. Certainly an improvement over my 17-40 in that area. Otherwise, fairly average - average as L glass goes anyway.

Marc, great image!!! You take us right there with your composition. So much details are there even on the rocks in background... beautiful job...regards, Rajeev.

marc,

one thing caught my eye, and it may just be my monitor. it looks like small patches of the sky just above two of the 'peaks' towards the right are blown out. compositionally, this is very, very nice.

One of the best images I have seen for a long time. I love the mood and the contrasts of the light, colors and forms. Congratulations for this masterpiece.

Anish, I suspect a monitor issue is the cause of the apparent blown highlights, as you state. I can definitely see some orange color in the highlights here.

Marc, really I'm very impressed with this work. You use the lines of the rocks in the best way to transport us to these fantastic silhouettes in the horizon. I love how you compose it. Congratulations and receive my best regards.

Marc,

In my opinion, this is quite literally a masterpiece. I'm so pleased with this composition and light. About how long after the sun passed the horizon did you take this? Thanks!

Good job with the grad line. How would you feel about a bit more contrast along the horizontal bottom of the tall rocks? I'm not sure if it is natural or not.

Beautiful light and colors. I love the diagonal lines of rock leading to the outcrop. What a magical place. Fantastic composition as usual. Do you use any filter effects in PhotoShop to get these colors? They look quite natural and beautiful but are they enhanced in any way? I hope you don't mind my asking. Wonderful work.

Marc,

I thought this was yours the moment I saw it on the photo.net splash screen. Sure enough, it was. As you usually do, you have created a thing of ethereal beauty in light, contrast, and delicate color. You transport us to another world, while traveling this one for your photography.

Well done.
