laurentlacoste 0 Posted February 21, 2008 It's a pleasure discovering those shots of your grandchildren. You have a great eye for children's photography, David. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 21, 2008 THE! Cream de la cream, David ! full of life and joy. she is a real model for photography... Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 21, 2008 As always, thanks. Actually I struggle with getting "decent" pictures with people in them. Since I spend a fair amount of time with these two, every now and then I get lucky. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 21, 2008 Repeat what I said to Joe. Sometimes something worthwhile comes up, but it's more often just dumb luck than skill. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 21, 2008 I don't know how to spell it (Laurent can help me here) but I like this for the pure joie de vivre expressed. Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Really nice. The joy in their faces is evident, and it makes for a really happy photo. I like the motion blurring...it adds a nice dynamic element to the shot. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 22, 2008 Thanks. We all three enjoy each other's company immensely. If any of us ever grow up, it will be a shame. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 22, 2008 Much indebted for the info. I used to speak Spanish fluently (two years in Colombia), but French is something that simply amazes me. It's so cool, but so impossible as far as I'm concerned. Two things I'd like to have mastered, and never will are music (playing an instrument) and French. Life is, indeed, too short. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 22, 2008 I think you hit the nail right dead square on the head. Take care amigo. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted February 22, 2008 I absolutely love the expression on the children, particularly the closed-eyed, lost in the moment, open-mouth laugh of the blondie. But the joy is even more evident in the shoe. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 22, 2008 Well, I'm not the least surprised that you would like this. I know kids are a big part of your life too. Thanks. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted February 22, 2008 my favorite part of this is the impish grin on big brother. i'll bet he loves irritating the poop out of little sister. great moment! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 22, 2008 Sounds like you may have already met my little grandson. But what is even more amazing is that his little sister knows how to dish it out pretty well herself. Take care. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted February 22, 2008 they always do. the little ones start it, and then come crying when the older one gets aggravated & gives some of it back. Link to comment
radioactive 0 Posted February 23, 2008 A splended shot David. Wondefull capture of motion and emotion. This is far from your norm of delapitaiton and decay... it is one of youtfullness and life and growth and play. Very Very excellent work my dear friend. I know you love these little crumb cruchers to peices. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 23, 2008 Cream de la cream means the best...;-)) and grandchildren are exactly this( I speak Franch, so I understood) , and I think like you looking at this photograph ;-)) Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 24, 2008 Great Johnny-on-the spot picture. You know what I think allows this picture to be so successful is the little girl's open mouth. It really draws the eye to the motion blurred figure, otherwise the darker background would dominate. Now your cat, on the other hand... When I first saw it I didn't notice it was a picture of an upside down cat but saw it as some sort of strage, other-worldly animal looking up at the camera. Took me a minute before the usual cat template wrested control and I saw it as you had intended. A pity in a way. Let me tell you a little story. Once, many years ago, I bought a piece of art that I thought was brilliant, somehow deeply symbolic and which resonated with my spirit. I was showing it to a friend weeks later and talking about how much I enjoyed this picture of a lizard climbing up the wall with the spires of the distant city in the background. "what are you talking about" he said, "it's a picture of a knight piece on a chess board." You know, he was right. I had never seen it that way at all and once he pointed it out, it was perfectly clear. I never liked it as much after that. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 24, 2008 Oh that's a great comment. I love that word splendid. I've got to start using it more. And "crumb crunchers?" That's priceless. Thanks. That shining scalp of yours lights up my life. Link to comment
