RickDB 10 Posted February 21, 2008 ...I just posted this to remind PN users that it was happening. My equipment is not really up to this type of photography, but I bet the professional star gazers will post some great shots (assuming it wasn't cloudy!) Cheers, Rick Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted February 21, 2008 This is a really beautiful shot, with the eerie clouds around it makes it very moody. Link to comment
color 3 Posted February 22, 2008 Nice shot. I especially like the colors. I appreciate your adding the tech details too. Link to comment
RickDB 10 Posted February 22, 2008 The cloud layer was low and thin, the orange tint came from the city lights and the blue from the halo around the moon. Of course, some say the sky is always orange and blue over UF! Cheers, RickDB Link to comment
cowboy 0 Posted January 2, 2010 Hi, what setting did you use to get the moon clear and the clouds visable, I can only seem to get one or the other. Thanks for your time. Jeff Link to comment
RickDB 10 Posted January 3, 2010 Hi Jeff, Exposure was 1/15s @ f/5.6, ISO400 (with tripod). The clouds were very thin and quite well illuminated by the moon. I shot in RAW and a bought up the dark clouds in CS4 - which resulted in quite a lot of noise, see botton RH corner.. Cheers, RickDB Link to comment
