I have been wanting to do some shooting of some of the wonderful architecture that you can find in Buffalo ... but the weather hasn't been conducive. (Normally, we have completely gray overcast from November through March ... and if it's not overcast, the snow is melty and muddy....) But last night we had about a foot of snow, and then the skies cleared for about two or three hours. So I got myself downtown (with appropriate footwear this time) to shoot Buffalo's art museum. The Albright-Knox is a gorgeous building! I hope that I have done it justice with some of my images. Let me know what you think.

I like all three of these, but this one I like the most. Perhaps it's the composition. The branch shadows in the foreground direct the viewer toward the building as do the branches in the upper left. You did a nice job with the exposure ... nothing overblown and no seriously heavy shadows.

Buffalo has a lot of beautiful old buildings and homes ... I hope to see more.

Hey Mark - I knew you'd pick up on these. But I didn't realize how quickly you'd show up. :-) Did you ever go to the Shakespeare in the Park across the street from here (I should say, across the Scajaquada)? It's some fabulous drama! I also like that Pollock that they have prominently displayed in one of the foyers.

I'm glad that you like this one. The clouds closed in really very quickly while I was shooting, so my window was rather short. But it was fun to go down there.

I found this list online and hope to get to shoot some (all?) of these buildings.

Thanks for your visit!

Aside from the beauty of the trio, I like here the semi "circle" ( distortion) done by the wide angle, a fact that accentuates the tree's shadow which leads the eye nicly to the BG. very nice composition Lou Ann and series.

This is my fave; a strong, powerful composition, and excellent point-of-view. The shadows in the FG really add a lot. This screams for a black and white conversion; hmmm, maybe you did one already. I'll have a look. Well done. Cheers! Chris
