Trees & Rail Fence

LenMarriott

From a recent field trip. Canon A540, 'P' mode, 1\320 sec @ f4, 11.8mm (140mm equiv), handheld. Minor cropping & 'tweaking' in PS for enhanced snow rendition. Best, LM.

The surprise here is the COLOR... leaves and delicate branches in the hard snow/cold environment. It is a very busy surrounding but the eye is attracted to the color. Is there an explanation to it? as spring does not look too close yet....

Pnina, Nice to have you visit again. Yes, the colour, in the midst of a mostly monochrome scene, is what first attracted me. Most of the trees are Maple, the fence rails Cedar. The leaves are from a Beach tree. They seem to hang on all winter and are replaced with new leaves in the spring. In this scene we are about as close to last fall as we are to next spring. Indeed, making a decent composition from such busy surroundings was a challange but I'm pleased with the result. Best, LM.

No more than I am Lou Ann. :-) In a mostly monochrome environment a splash of colour, muted or not, really sticks out. The trick is to recognize and record it. Thanks for your input. Best, LM.

How would your approach, pre or post exposure, result in a stronger

image? This is the best arrangement I could think of at the time.

Best, LM.
