aepelbacher 0 Posted February 19, 2008 I mentioned to Emilia that I was thinking about going out to shoot bricks as a study in textures. I believe that she is going to hold me to it. :-) So, here is one of the brick abstracts that I shot for Emilia. It was just about sunset and I was SUPER cold. I had no business hand-holding my long lens for a shutter speed slower than 1/100". I'll need to go back and shoot this spot again when it's warmer out and a little bit lighter, so that I don't have to worry about being in a hurry or about hand holding. This is actually my favorite shot from the approximately 13 minutes that I spent shooting last night. I pretty much needed to crop it square because there were electrical lines that I couldn't avoid and some other junk that was getting in the way. What are your thoughts? Link to comment

cycler48 8 Posted February 23, 2008 Interesting photo. There really is a lot to look at here and I feel the drain pipe makes it easier to do that by dividing the picture into left and right halves. I like the textures of the brick and the mish mash of lines created by the apparently dead creeping vines. Also, the photo has me wondering what's going on with the two blackened windows. Perhaps the apartment of a recluse or former spy? ;-) Link to comment
